PIECE OF CRAP

My Creative Writing class can turn out to be VERY interesting sometimes. We were given a mid-term last Tuesday that was due on Wednesday. We had some guidelines to follow, and when it comes to writing, especially Poetry, that can be a problem for me. After many hours trying to come up with something that would fit at least some of the requirements I was SO frustrated, that I was about to give up... I took a small break so I could get my so desired Coke... Whoever knows me well knows I LOVE Coke! I came back to the computer after a little while, and decided that I was going to write WHATEVER!!! Here's what I got on the paper:

PIECE OF CRAP POEM

Turn the table to the top

Taking time to tackle talk

Trick or treating as they walk

Candy, caramel and pop

Day demands a dragging clock

Tic and tac and start and stop

Day is light and night is dark

Just as plain as black and white

Leaves that lie along the line

Of the gray straight narrow path

Fill the street with color warm

Orange, red, and brown and tan

Night can fall at any time

Starring stars with greatest shine

Brightening the sea of seals

Standing shiny on the rocks

Better be a banal write

Before best becomes so far

Don't ask me what it means, because I have no idea. It was supposed to be a non-sense poem anyway. When I arrived in class today, the teacher asked each of us to recite our poems and I almost refused to do it, because I thought it was a piece of crap... When he said "well but that's it's what's supposed to be" I had to recite it...

People in my class might have been high... They all said it was THE BEST poem of the class!

Go figure...

That is awesome! That happened to me a couple of times in college too . . . I never took creative writing, but sometimes I did really well on tests I was sure I bombed. The Lord looks out for us . . . . . . and I'm convinced he has a sense of humor ;).
